Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
I probably won't have time to say it later. I wish everyone the best vacation ever, and the best of wishes into the new year. Hopefully, everyone's holidays will be better spent than mine which will be spent around work and a little sleep. I shouldn't really complain though, because I'll be doing nothing except sitting at my desk or shooting the breeze next to the water fountain with coworkers. Be good, folks! I'll see you next year.

A Break at the Wrong Time

Been busy with work.
And sleeping too. There has been some of that.

I have a number of posts I want to write, but haven't finished because of the recent time restraint. We're blazing through the holiday season at an alarming rate. While I have the chance I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays, although I may say it again some time later in the near future. Here's to the end of 2010 and to the upcoming year that may or may not be as full of suck.
To leave you people with something, have some random videos I yoinked.

Because Everyone Loves Fillers

Why else would so many people watch Naruto and Bleach?
The fillers must be wonderful.

So I'll do it too! I'm tired and want to sleep. But its my day off and I want to show I'm still alive so here. Two quick jokes.

After a month of sunshine, we finally get rain here in central Florida. Yes! Finally! Yayifications! That's really all I have to say. Busy working, so no time to draw or write. Played a little of an MMO in beta stages called Vindictus, its okay for an MMO.
Now I slumber. I have nothing for you tonight. So instead, have some videos to watch. I found them all at random.

This post contains 100% of it.
All Cities XL 2011. Pure, concentrated, but pulp free. No sodium added. Well, maybe just a little.

So on my days off(and my days on), I've been playing Cities XL 2011 nonstop. I've lost sleeping hours to this beast. I haven't had this much fun with a sim game since Tropico 3 or when Open For Business came out for the Sims. The Sims 2 really needs an Open For Business expansion pack. Anyway, Cities 2011 has been the focus of my attention ever since I got it a few weeks ago.

The path I didn't choose.

What I Do On Off Days

Nothing in particular.

I mean seriously, my life is kind of empty as of late. Outside of work, I literally do nothing. There's the lawn, which I work on. There's some games like Cities XL 2011 and TV shows like Fringe. I work on art and writing from time to time, but that's about it. It was a big deal when I went to Wal-Mart the other day. Seriously, Wal-Mart. My life is bland and lame, its needs some spicing on the spicy spice. And ketchup. For the first time in several months, I washed my car. It was shiny for a whole two minutes before a cat sat on it. I exacted horrifying revenge on that cat by eating it. Tasty Chinese.

Not Living

Not Dead Either.
It's the "in-between".

I'm tired, I'm very tired. Exhausted, drained, fatigued, and hungry. I've been working 80+ hours in the last two weeks thanks to certain events transpiring out of my common knowledge. I leave the house around 8 in the morning, and then I return sometime around or after midnight. This schedule prolongs itself for five days out of the week, and my off days are chosen at random. As hard as it is to maintain this lifestyle, I'm not all that tired(okay, maybe I am) or irritated as I thought I would be. I guess its because most of the people I meet on a daily basis are more positive than normal.

Well, I try.

I figured that my writing spirit has gone nowhere fast in the past few weeks, so I gave it a break. I'd rather watch all this anime coming and play all these games. Cities XL 2011 just came out, so I'm once again stuck in a city-sim as a pretend mayor who thinks he can manage a city as awesome as anyone can. I have to say, although it doesn't look a lot different, Cities 2011 is most certainly different. Awesomely different.

An Unexpected Win

Tampa Bay Bucs win in the last few seconds.
Tampa Bay Rays pull through as well.
It's not bad to be a Tampa Bay fan these days.

But that's not what I was going to talk about today. Instead, I want to turn the clock back a few months. It was time in the middle of all anime going through the long haul stage of big suck, the drought of good anime. We had a few good shows during this time which we thoroughly enjoyed. But most either fell under A)harem anime, B)moe anime, or C)something else that's not so good.
During such a time, we go through our manga and try to figure out which ones are good enough to become animated in the next few seasons. My friends chose The World God Only Knows, which is pretty hilarious. Bakuman was a given, the creator of Death Note making a manga about making manga? Instant win.
Now here's where the hilarious part comes in, I chose two almost at random. The first manga I chose was a joke, a jab at my friends and their Japanese pedo-ways. The second choice felt so cookie-cutter that I had to chose it, it had everything that the standard anime these days have. The male protagonist that returns to a certain place after several years? Check. The childhood friend? Check. The one and only male friend the main character will ever have? Check. And of course, vampires. Yup.
It may or may not come as a surprise, but here was the first one...

Awake at Night

It's not Insomnia.

The original song is so much slower and not as great in my opinion.

So more and more, I find myself tossing and turning at night for a while. After that, I give up and get out of bed to do other things. In this state of consciousness, I have discovered things that I miss when I'm usually out cold. There is a sports complex somewhere across the lake. I always thought they would turn off their extremely bright lights sometime during the night. They don't, it goes off around the crack of dawn. Such a waste of electricity.
The cats are extremely active at night, and that was why they were so lethargic during the daytime hours. They also drink lake water, I don't know why. I think that's kind of weird for some reason when we give them tap water to drink.
I can see the stars again. I couldn't see the stars in Atlanta, too many bright lights or clouded nights. I stayed up for an entire night just staring up at the night sky on the beach. Surprisingly, the mosquitoes aren't as active as the cats are. Those pesky insects are most active during the evening, early night, and early morning. I could stand outside for hours at night and not get a million insect bites. That is sort of awesome in its own way.
Laket water is cold, but only on the top. At night, the first few feet are cooled by the night. But underneath that, there's warm water closer to the bottom. I really shouldn't go into the water at night though. That's horror movie material right there.
I was also surprised at myself. I used to see a lot of crazy hallucinations during my college years. Years of horror movies, horror games, loads of drugs(like aspirin and stuff), sleep deprivation, and stress, caused my brain to be a little messed up. I can't say that its all gone. I still feel the presence of something at night, but now I can honestly say that its probably my imagination. Its nice to have a peaceful night.
Unlike when I was in college, nothing is open late in this small town. Everything is closed, even Taco Bell. The town is completely silent, its almost creepy. But its also quite awesome. Oh, I forgot, the Wal-Mart is open. Always open. Forever.
Night driving is rather nice. I wish gas was cheaper, I'd do it every night. Well, maybe not every night. I heard there were some deserted streets around that would be used by street racers at night. That's cool. Some of the roads around here remind me of Need For Speed tracks. There aren't even any cops around at night. Truthfully, there probably are some. But I haven't seen any.

All that aside, what do people do to go to sleep? Some people can just go right to sleep in like a minute. They're down and out in a flash. I kind of wish I could be like that, but I'm a light sleeper. That isn't happening for me. I have trouble going to sleep, staying asleep, and waking up.
I heard a lot of solutions over the years. Like read a book. I do that, I'll be up all night reading. Tried that, didn't work. Warm milk. I really liked that idea. And to some extent, I think it worked. Sometimes. Exercise. That totally didn't work. One thing I noticed is that when I'm falling asleep, my heartbeat gets slower. Exercise speeds it up. Yeah, that didn't work. Watch television was a great suggestion. No, not really. I can't fall asleep when there's a television or radio on in the room.
Sidetracking for a moment, there was sleep study done a long while ago. People who slept in rooms with a lot of electronic devices turned on had less restful sleep than people who had little or no electronic devices turned on. After I learned that, I turned everything off except my alarm clock and cell phone. My computer is a huge noise maker, I didn't realize before that because I always had music playing. The ceiling fan too, but I need that to cool down the room at night sometimes.
That's it for the sleep study. I can assure you that there will be more to hear of that subject in the future.
I really can't believe music can help people sleep. Leave music playing and I'll be awake all night. It does ease me a little into a sleep-inducing state though, it just won't get me all the way. I remember I used to joke with people about just knocking me out and I would get my sleep that way. When I think about it, that wouldn't work either. Besides the chance of not getting knocked out and experiencing the pain, I would only be out for a few minutes at best. Then it would a night of miserable headache pain. Not the best of my ideas.

One last thing, I miss the view of a city at night from the top of a parking garage. If you can, I urge everyone to see that view, It's quite nice and it always has a nice breeze and good view. I used to see it alone until a few friends came along. Then we decided thatwe would eat Taco Bell on the top of the parking garage at least once a week as a friendly get together. Good times. I can't do that anymore. No city, no parking garage. Sigh. Oh well.

I wish there was a radio station that played this kind of music at night. "Night Driving Music". Oh well, the closest thing is jazz.

One more for the road!

Honolulu Saturday Night Speedway!

Sleep easy folks!(Please don't fall asleep on the road.)

On Habits

Good or Bad?

I really had nothing to talk about today, but I didn't want a lame and uneventful update. So while I am finding something awesome to talk about, I'll talk about habits instead. Which is actually quite hilarious, as I have a ton of habits that are horrible and I can't break.
I don't really know if it counts as a habit, but I can't get up in the morning for the life of me. My cell phone alarm, my alarm clock, and my computer. All of those at once are needed for me to get enough strength to roll out of bed where the force of the impact into the floor jars my brain into a state of semi-awareness.
I have to have that unhealthy, cheap Chinese food every week at least once. When I really thought about it, it feels like I need something cheap and fattening every week more than once. Maybe it was because I was raised off fast food(no idea how I'm still twig thin), or maybe it was a habit engraved during my college years. I'm quite positive that I liked fast food before college though. Or maybe its just because I like the neat little Chinese food takeout boxes.
I got to game, always, almost every day. Well, that's not so bad. It's like an outlet, everyone has to have a few of those. Most of my spending money goes to games or my computer. The only other thing that comes close in cost is my car. And food. Maybe I spend an hour or two gaming every day, a little more on off days. Not like there's anything else to do.

Another habit of mine, I call the 5-1. Do five good things for people in a day. It used to be the 5-0, because I didn't mind not getting a good deed in return. But life has a way of surprising me and always gives me one back. It's a nice concept in theory, if everyone does five good things, good stuff will happen to them right? Well, its optimism. We need more good in this world full of craptastic stuff. (Seeing the fansubbers use that word in Yosuga no Sora made me roll with laughter.)
I like to save money, like almost all of it. When I was kid I would save all my money like a squirrel with acorns. Now I have things to spend it on, but I'm still hoarding in my bank accounts. That's not a bad thing, it's just that I look poor to people who don't know I have those savings. I don't spend much on anything except bills and games, so it appears to others that I only have enough to pay for bills and a few games. I get to snicker at them and play my games.
Habits are fun, its fun to notice other people's habits. I'm sure I have a lot more that other people notice and laugh at. Habits are like what makes us people I guess.

Now for awesome things!
A new level shown for Sonic HD! Its like the old Metropolis zone.

I think I'll get it from Xbox Live, although I wish they made it for the PSP.

In other gaming-related news. I just joined in on the Medal of Honor Beta. I like the combat mission that looks a lot like this because it is this...

They ran through that like a steamroller, that never happens. That's only like half of the entire mission which takes about 10-15 minutes depending on how awesome your team is. Or how awesome the enemy team is. Either way, awesome.

Supreme Commander 2 just came out with new downloadable content, it was a great addition to the already nice game. The AI is so much harder, like it HAX. And everyone likes the Monkeylord.

There was also this I got to play.

BILL! That was totally epic. Hands down.

Moving on from games.

Pacific Paradise is good. I thumbs up this guy for finding it a placing in his "best" section. If one has time, they should listen to his selected stuff.

In anime coming this season.

I find it hilarious that I pay more attention to the male voice actors more than the female ones now. The females ones come a dime a dozen, but the same male voices get used over and over again.
That was "Ore no Imouto" with even a longer title than I'll bother with. I just call it "Oreimo" like everyone else does. Surprisingly, from what I hear, its actually a pretty realistic depiction of a brother and his little sister. Their relationship only goes as far as recognizing that the other merely exists. Finally, some reality.
Is it just me or was that tune kind of catchy? Anyway, why is it always that the guy's pupils are much smaller than the girl's in anime. How weird, silly Japanese anime.

There's A Certain Magical Index 2, which I had to show because I like it so much.

There's also The World God Only Knows, Star Driver, Bakuman(from the writer of Death Note), Fortune Arterial, Yosuga no Sora, and we can't forget Iron Man.

And here's a few vids I'll end the day with.

This one is oh so old and received so much flame, but I still like it. If they're one good thing that came out of Sonic, it was that the 3D Sonic used in Sonice the Hedgehog 2006 is still used in Sonic Unleashed and the upcoming Sonic Colors for the Wii.

Have a great day folks! Remember, eat unhealthy! Hey, wait...

Number 12 Tourist Destination

I have to say, I never thought I would ever work in a theme park. I always knew I wanted to be a part of people's lives, it was something I thought of doing since I was born in Hawaii, where tourists are a major source of income. I really like it, being a reason for people to come and have a good time. It's a great feeling. Free entry into the park is also great, and the hundreds of discounts too.
Universal Orlando is number 12 on the most visited tourist spots in the United States. Seaworld Orlando is 13, Universal California is 17.Waikiki Beach in Hawaii is 19? I always thought it was higher than that. Busch Gardens in Tampa is 21. SeaWorld San Diego is number 23. Oh, and Disney Florida is number 5. But nobody cares.
I find that interesting though, because Universal Orlando is estimated to have 6.2 million guests every year. That is approximately 16,666 people coming through the park everyday. That's a lot of people, coming to have fun, ride the coasters, and see Harry Potter. Another interesting fact, there's a lighthouse tower in Universal's Islands of Adventure. It is apparently tall enough and bright enough at night that the Federal Aviation Administration declared it as a landmark that pilots can use to fly into Orlando International Airport. Cool, right?
So I've been using my free entry into parks a lot. I still find it funny that I like SeaWorld more than any other park. It must be the Shamu effect. What sound does an orca make? Orc orc! No, not really.

So I've been spending a lot of time on the road. One hour to work and one hour back. It's a lot of silent time, which is why I listen to the radio. Music just isn't what it used to be, although smooth jazz is still good. I have to say, I miss Casey Kasem and America's Top 40 sometimes. He was just a good radio host. I miss good music. After a while, I decided to stop listening to the radio and just start listening to A State of Trance on my PSP. ASOT is so good, music for my ears.

Watching TV, Fringe is back! Yes! The Event was weird, not so great. Maybe I'll watch it later. Bones is back along with a slew of other shows like House and Dancing with the Stars. Not that I watch either of those.

Gaming time! I'm sad that my computer won't be able to handle the new Medal of Honor and I refuse to buy it for the the 360 or PS3. Oh well, I still have Starcraft 2 and Minecraft. But in a more positive light, Sonic 4 or as many like to call it, Sonic HD, I will be getting for my 360. We like to call it Sonic HD because there has been no videos of new levels, just prettier versions of levels Sonic fans are familiar with. Like...

The Labyrinth Zone!

The Casino Zone!

Still, I'll get it because there are a few new things in there and who doesn't like the new HD look? The music is as catchy as ever to boot.

Until next time!

On Hobbies

Other than watching anime and games.
There are other things in life, right?

So after looking over my posts, I realized most of everything I talk about falls into three categories. There are shows, American television or anime, like Fringe which is starting again next week! YEAH! There are games, computer games mainly, like Starcraft 2 and Medal of Honor. And then there's music, like trance, ASOT is the greatest form of music ever. Truth.
So one might ask, but Kai, you can't be watching shows or gaming or listening to ASOT all the time? WRONG, I can do all those things all the time. Okay, let's be realistic, I have time set aside for other hobbies. Now hold on just a second, for some reason that just makes me sound unfaithful to my primary hobbies. Anyway, I avert my attention to other things every now and then.
Ever since I was a kid, I loved Legos. They were fun to build. If you had enough creativity, you could build anything. So I've been a collector for many years now. Recently I went through I decline in my Lego purchases simply because: 1) I have no space in my humble abode to display them and I hate keeping them in a box in the closet, and 2) Lego recently went through a period of making their sets easier to build with less pieces and that was no fun. Lego recently signed a contract with Disney(or Nick, I forget), so now there's a lot of themes I'm not interested in like Toy Story and Spongebob. I still like some of their other themes though, like the new Space Police line, the City line, and their architecture line(which makes great cubicle decorations by the way). I have the Space Needle on my desk at work, its quite nice. Lego's been back on the climb again though, going into new ground and releasing a transit station with a city bus and tram. Then there's the long awaited cargo trailer truck, which even has tiny Lego boxes. A while back, they started releasing these huge buildings that were tremendously huge and took a lot of pieces to build. One of those costed about $150. And now they are shipping out limited Collector's minifigs, which are all quite hilarious like the zombie and my personal fav, the sombrero man. Okay, enough about Legos, for now.

Another thing I like to collect that I just just started to acquire was the Mcfarlane Toys Halo line. I don't get all of them, but there is a few that I want to go out of my way to have on my shelf. I had a Master Chief for the longest time and I've been thinking about getting the Rookie from Halo: ODST. The latest series for the Reach generation looks quite nice, I will probably grab a Noble 6. Although I have to carefully compare it to Square Enix's version.
While we're on the subject of action figures, how about them nice looking Starcraft 2 figures coming out next year?

So as you can well see, I happen to be quite the toy collector. My room is full of Legos and things, even a few stuffed and puffy creatures from beyond. And I won't link the Ebay page for those because I'm still buying all of them. Don't ask why. I don't really know either. Some people have their Legos fight other Legos, I have mine battle it out with giant fat birds.

For a more productive and useful hobby, I like to learn about other languages. I have dictionaries of every major language I can think of and can speak probably just enough to survive if I get kidnapped and abandoned in said country. I think it's useful, or I'll be made fun of because of my noob accent. The bad thing about this hobby is that there really is nobody to practice with and nobody who shares the same hobby. It's either one other language or none other language for most people. Oh well, I'll be special. Just don't ask me to speak in other languages, I don't know why, but its kind of embarrassing unless necessary.

I've talked enough about my hobbies and link spammed enough for today. Have some videos.

People with relationships are advised against the playing of this game, glad I don't have any.

I want that album, just for the laughs. Nothing better than listening to Terran Up the Night. lol.

Okay, I'm outta here.

Awkward Moments

You know, those kinds of moments.

I've been having a lot of those, you know, the times when nobody says anything because nobody knows what to say. So I was walking around at work the other day(my work involves a giant theme park that doesn't have that mouse), when a girl walks up to me and hits on me. That's rare, I thought she was joking or it was like a bet from her friends. Regardless, it was awkward.
There was another time I was making an sandwich and left to go do something really quickly. When I came back, my friend was eating it. Awkward silence, and then I socked him.
The best awkward silences, at least to me, are the ones right after someone's told a joke and everyone laughs. Then its all silent and nobody knows what to say. Those are great. Yeah.

In other news, I finally caught up to society and bought Starcraft 2 with my first paycheck. I am enjoying this game, thoroughly. But I am also totally noobing it up on multiplayer. I haven't gotten stomped this badly since the first time I played a first person shooter. Let me tell you, there are some hardcore players out there. Lighten up on the noob guys, at least let me think for a while that I can win. Please? Okay, fine.

Moving on, I have one heck of an annoying song stuck in my head. Here! Maybe I can ruin your day too.

Changing the subject, let's get back to games. Medal of Honor looks downright amazing, to me anyway. Some people say that's enough of the "modern warfare" genre. But I say so what? We had like a decade of World War 2 games, I can have my modern warfare games for at least 5 more years. Seriously, multiplayer looks so good. I can't wait to spend my money.

Anime-wise, I've dropped so many shows its almost not worth watching anymore. Its sad really. All my friends ask me what anime is good this season and I have nothing to tell them. I thought Highschool of the Dead would be awesome, but its just a fanservice machine. Break Blade(or Broken Blade) is actually kind of boring, even though it had a good OP. Ookami-san is riding on Taiga/tsundere fanfare, and Amagami is just another harem show. Occult Academy is just plain weird and Black Rock Shooter wasn't for me. Either my tastes in anime have gone up, or production standards have gone down. So sad.
I will say this though, I'm looking forward to finally seeing Unlimited Blade Works.

In terms of music, anyone else listen to ASOT? I mean seriously, its so awesome. Why doesn't anyone else listen to it? Am I the only one? Really? Come on.
What about MOGRA? Well, to be honest, its not that great. Its like the otaku version of trance. People get giddy when they recognize a certain anime tune being thrown into the mix. I have to be honest, I was hooked for a while. But I could never catch the live broadcasts and sometimes the mixes were rather under par.

Okay, all that talk was rather awesome, but back to boring stuff. I know I have been having a lot of dreams lately, but I can't remember them when I wake up for the life of me. I am certain some of them were really awesome or scary or comedic. I also have a habit of waking up on the floor when I fell asleep in bed, one more for awkward moments.
Oh, you know what else is awkward? Waking up, getting ready for work, eating breakfast really fast, jumping in the car, then realizing you have the day off. Yeah, walking back inside and meeting my buddy still eating breakfast is kind of awkward. This happened twice in the same week, in a row.
Did I mention I am finally determined to get my camera? I am saving up to buy myself a Pentax k-x for Christmas. So pictures of Christmas I guess, although it doesn't snow in Florida, I'll find something. Now that I have an income again, time for me to revitalize the US economy with my spending.
And one more awkward moment for the road. Walking into a glass door with people watching, that was awkward. It was at a bank too.

ASOT! Seriously, take a listen and believe.

Just a few years ago, I never liked vocals in my trance. Now I do, if its done nicely.

Good night world!

Work In Progress

Back to Work!

Well well, after three months of taking a nice vacation and doing nothing in particular, it is time for me to return to the workforce. Starting next week, I'll be one of the people working inside Universal Studios to keep their HR department systems running so they can reject applications knowing that all their computer's information was indeed correct. The pay is decent, although not as high as I had hoped for four years of college. The hours are fixed though, but that doesn't mean I'll be getting weekends off. Working for a theme parks has its perks, I can get in free! I also get free tickets every once in a while which I think I'll sell and make even more money.

All that good stuff aside, I figured it was a nice time to work on the good ol' site again. Just changing the template and the music really. Also starting to draw again, just picked up the pencil the other day and started sketching random things. I never got around to buying that camera either.

Two shows I was watching had their season finales last night. I really don't like cliffhanger endings, now I have to wait for months. Thanks Burn Notice and Royal Pains. At least Fringe is coming back in September. Oh, enjoy some of this.

Now since that's done, I'm going back to doing nothing.

And for those you who laugh at my yearning to cook things, eat it.

New Stuff Here!

No, not really.
I can dream, right?

Just been watching a lot of shows lately(American shows). Burn Notice is coming to the end of its third season. Fringe and Dexter are returning next month. Marathoning Bones and watching Lie to Me whenever I am able to catch it. Did you know Supernatural got the green light to be turned into an anime? I think after Bones, I have to check out Weeds.

Game-wise, I am behind. Haven't gotten Starcraft 2 yet. HAWX2 is due out next month. Still need to upgrade my computer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The new Need For Speed Hot Pursuit is coming out sometime in the winter, and the next Ace Combat is due out sometime next year. It's a bad time to be me.

So far, my life hasn't changed. No permanent job to relax in, still stuck in the same old rut. You know what, the economy really is bad. I just didn't think it was this bad. Oh well.

Need boredom relief? Have a video!

Nothing New to Report

Seriously, I expected lots of new and exciting things when I returned to Florida.
Not happening.

Well, boredom and curiosity got the better of me. You can ask me any question you want now, and I'll probably not answer them in the most logical form. Eh, its a time-killer.

Also, Cancer Jesus!

AFO this weekend, my friend's hosting a panel on Queen's Blade and how horrible it is. Fun right? I believe I can predict his suicide before the end of it. Yes, its that bad. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I can't go. There's another stupid career fair scheduled over the same weekend. Sigh. Let's hope I can find a job soon.

ASOT still rocks, I don't care what anyone else has to say. I listened to MOGRA for a while, not bad. And now there's TATW(Trance Around The World) or something, not as good as ASOT if you ask me. Ah, sweet trance. You take a listen sometime.

I have nothing else for you.

Okay, I'm out of here.

No really, just sit back, take a breath, click play, and relax.

Okay, done relaxing? Get back to work.

Aliens and Things

This post is 99% Aliens, 1% other stuff.

It's free, it's fun, and it has aliens! Lots of them, to kill! Four players, running, gunning, "funning"? Yes, funning. I don't remember the last time I played/enjoyed a free game this much. Betas and demos don't count. Valve, you've done it again, I'm proud. Valve is the only game company I've never been disappointed in. Ever. Keep on it, keep on it. I highly suggest anyone with a computer to download it and try it. It's free.

Other aliens! Hah, you thought I would only talk about the games didn't you?
You know what? I'm sick of people making a big deal of the whole Arizona immigration law and their racial profiling bit. These people need to get their facts straight, and they need to get before its too late. Obama's too busy riding the Democrat "we need Hispanic votes" train to properly deal with the issue. Every liberal anywhere is making a fuss over how the new immigration law is lead to racial profiling. Of course it will, who are we trying to get to leave the country? Whose pouring over that Arizona border? Mexicans. Okay, I'll be fair, Hispanics in general. But check this out right here. Statistics!
See that? Over 22 million illegals, only 600,000 who aren't Mexican. I bet most of them are Asian(haha). Take a peek at the rest of the numbers. All the money lost to educating their children and lost to the social services provided for them like housing, food stamps, and medicare. let's not even talk about all the money they are being paid and sending out of the States and out of our economy. Okay, once again, I'll be fair. They are sending that money to families who need it. But personally, I think there are Americans in our country who  need that money also. And at least when it goes to them, it recirculates back into the US economy. All those jobs taken up by illegals, that could be taken by US citizens. The economy would be much better if 11 million jobs opened up, don't you think so?
So all those people who say its going to lead to racial profiling, eat it. That's what its supposed to do. All those people who say illegals are vital to our economy, eat it. (I mean seriously.) Those who say it will cost too much, eat it too. It will cost, but it will cost more to do what we have been doing.

Oh, I have some good news. China recently passed a minimum law law. If the minimum wage starts rising over the next few years, US companies might start losing money for sending their factories there and stop outsourcing. Good news, right?

Yeah, I sound racist. But if you think that's bad...

To finish it all off, I'm an equal opportunity racist all right? If you give me the opportunity, I'll give you racism. It doesn't matter if you're black, white, yellow, or whatever color your skin is. Everyone has their stereotypes, I'll find one. Let me just give you some advice, grow up.

Also, did anyone else notice how Playlist totally chopped out all their music? Over half my playlist is gone, what the heck happened there? Major threat by record companies?

That's it for me, back to life.

Writing Style

Who do you write like?
Find out!

Apparently, I wrote like Mark Twain in my last post. That was beyond hilarious, I was floored. And you know what? I wrote like Stephen King for my E3 coverage, that was gold. It's like horror in games and not in a bad way. A lot of my posts were actually analyzed into making me believe I write like the awesome King. I can live with that. I should get into horror more.
Follow the link, do what it says, and have fun! And then post it here so I have something/someone to laugh at. You know you want to.

and this...

(And for the record, this post was written like James Joyce.)

Flying Under the Radar

The Rain Continues!
and the big news is...

Spain wins the World Cup! And bragging rights for four years!
Props to Himura who actually drew this.

Everyone watched the World Cup, everyone right? Right? Okay then, I don't need to go over it then. It was exciting, and now its over.
In other news, the rain still pours. Had a few days of sunshine and now its raining again, I like it. Now only if I didn't have to go outside and get soaked.
The next game season is coming, APB is in full swing, Starcraft 2 coming soon along with a slew of other stuff. Halo: Reach for all the bros, Need For Speed World too. I'm not all that interested in this NFS though as its not as cool as the one I really am anticipating. Anime-related, this season was about as good as the last. As in, nothing to really watch. Besides zombie apocalyptic Highschool of the Dead, there is not anything that really interests me. So I watched through both ef ~ a tale of ~ shows. Awesomely creative and artistic shows from Shaft. There's just something about their style.

Well, I have nothing else except... Vid Time!

Oops. No new and awesome vids today, I haven't surfed youtube in a while.

Rainy July

Its raining. Again.

Been getting lots of rain lately, it is quite nice. I don't really have much else to say. Oh, except for Highschool of the Dead. Yipee! I was waiting for this show.

Yeah, that's right, I just gave you the credits roll. No trailer for you!

Other than HSOTD, no other anime really looks interesting to me this season. Working just ended Angel Beats too. Bakemonogatari finished, although it could have definitely used more episodes. I don't think Utawarerumono is coming out with anything more. Well, there is the Black Lagoon OVAs...

Outside of anime, I've just been playing APB and LoL day in and day out. Tried out the Need For Speed World Beta, disappointing. Oh well, we all know which Need For Speed I'm looking forward to!

Vid Time! Fan Made!

I have a feeling I'm repeating a lot of videos lately. Oh well. Bye!

Here We Go Again...

Hi girls and boys!
Guess who's back?
Me! Sort of.

So anyway, I've been in Florida for almost a month now. I have to say, I'm glad to be back. I feel better already. No more city attitude(okay, well, I seemed to have brought some over), not as much traffic, less stupid drivers, less city basically. I'm staying with an old friend who lives out in the countryside, next to a large lake. To put it simply, I envy this guy. He's a silver spoon, he gets anything he ever wants. I wonder why my life can't be that easy. Then again, for as long as I'm here, I'm going to swim, kayak, and jet ski the heck out of this lake. I've regained a few shades of skin color, I'm Asian again!

Pictures soon, people. I haven't gotten a hold of that awesome Pentax camera I want yet, but I did get my hands on a simple digital point and shoot camera. I gotta let people see this lake. More importantly, I have to show people pictures of me enjoying this lake while they are stuck in a cubicle at work. In your face, office lackeys!

Speaking of office lackeys, I found a temporary job until I find a more permanent one. A friend of mine who graduated when I did is starting a IT company in Tampa, he hired me as a consultant to make this company of his a success. Working to build a company from the foundations up is really an experience. I'm being paid top dollar to sit around and shuffle through potential office locations, applications, and client lists. Sure, its hard and important work, but who cares! I love this job. The only person I listen is this guy who is too busy doing his own work. And if I do this right, maybe I could get this as a permanent position. That would be nice.

You know what, E3. World Cup. OMG. I was not anticipating any games until E3 showed up, curse you E3! Now there's stuff like this...

Child of Eden Trailer, its one of those motion things! The music is Star Line by Genki Rockets, btw.

Bringing NFS back to its roots, hell yeah. I'm definitely being a Chaser.

Sonic 4! Back to the roots!

Seriously, E3 is a gamer's lifeblood. Look at the lineup. Dead Space 2, Halo Reach for all the bros, Medal of Honor, NFS, Sonic 4, that motion game stuff, Vanquish, Fear 3, and so much more. And here I thought I could stop spending money on games for a while. Silly me.

Site-wise, I'm not making much progress here. In fact, I really haven't been able to do anything yet. No time! Too busy enjoying myself. I'll get to it eventually. I'll get tired of fun having fun soon, right?

Okay, instead of manga time, its webcomic time.
Shortpacked - A funny comic about retail workers of a toy store. Epic funny, really.
Megatokyo - If you haven't at least heard of this one, you never truly had access to the internet.
Penny Arcade - The man who writes this stuff is pure literary gold, a god.

You know what I do miss? Atlanta had a ton of Asian restaurants and grocery stores. There is a total of two Korean places to eat in Tampa. Two. And one Asian grocery store. Am I not looking hard enough yet? Or maybe they are considered shady and aren't listed on Google Maps. Or the internet for that matter.

Anyway, vid time.

Heh, I couldn't resist one more.

I'm outta here, time to eat sunlight.

The Final Week

Eat Vocaloid! Eat it now!
I mean hear Vocaloid. My bad.

Rolling Girl by Hatsune Miku. Honestly, awesome or what?

You have to hand to the team, they did a really awesome job on that stuff. Unfortunately, I've been listening through the album and nothing else catches me quite like it did. Regardless, I am pleasantly surprised at the level of nice listening this album achieved. I am amazed that someone put this together, utterly amazed.
And speaking of music, Angel Beats. Eat it K-On fans, Angel Beats music is so much more... better.

Angel Beats OP

Angel Beats OP, rock version?

Thousand Enemies, Girls Dead Monster. Woo!

Crow Song!

Eat it! All of it! Nom nom nom!
Okay, all this music aside, I have one week left in here. Two roommates left during the weekend, so there's only one left to get rid of. The garage sale went... smoothly. I didn't expect to sell everything though, I must be better at sales than I thought. All this cash, its driving me mad! I need to dump it on the bank before I do something stupid.
Work is well, the same. This week will be the last week, the last time I'll deal with the interns. I have chosen the intern who gets my nerf rifle of death, I think he's the best out of this batch. I might miss my modded nerf gun, but I can always make another one.
I'll be busy throughout the week, so no updates maybe. Probably not much sleep either. Oh, speaking of sleep. I had the weirdest dreams as of last. I believe I've talked about my recurring dreams before, the ones where I'm searching for someone or something. I've been getting those recently again. Sigh.
But the other night, I had a strangely creepy one. Let me tell you...

I was driving through a residential area with small roads and lots of turns. Lots of dogs started to block my way and detour my progress. Getting frustrated, I notice an antique garage sale and walk over to it. I ask the old lady for directions, but she just talks of the dogs and the weather. Another lady comes out, and I turn my attention towards her. Upon a somewhat pleasant conversation, she invites me to dinner with her family. Later that night, the family shows me around their house. The first floor is dark when I come back down the stairs, I meet the old lady again. She talks to me again and I answer her.
The family upstairs comes out and asks me who I was talking to, I tell them about the old lady I thought was their grandmother. They tell me that she is a ghost and I should not talk to her or else she will continue to haunt me. I turn to look at her, but the ghost is gone. At dinner time, the family tells me she will appear again to try and talk to me during dinner. The best solution is not to talk to her and ignore her, then she will go away and I would never see her again.
As they said, she appeared. In a panicked frenzy, I threw some salt at her. She walked around the salt and tries to talk to me. “Shut up!” I thought aloud. “Shut up! Shut up, Shut up!” I sat their trembling for a while. The family tells me this is the first time they all saw her at once and saw her run out the back door. It was odd, I had that feeling too.
I followed her out into the backyard, to a grove of trees in the far corner. What I saw there was not and old woman, but a young woman with long purple hair. Under the moonlight, I stared at her beautiful face.

Then the damn birds woke me up. And Jebus, the part when the family told me she was a ghost, I could feel myself almost waking up from fright. Dreams have a surprising way of scaring people. I wish I knew how this one ended. I always wonder how dreams can feel so real and scary while you're asleep, but once you are awake you just say "oh, how silly." Still, that disappearing old lady ghost gave me the creeps. Curse your scariness, elderly people!

And speaking of ghosts, a friend of mine has used my belief in logic and statistics to prove that I have killed someone. A few years back, I was returning to Tampa from Jacksonville after a vacation of sorts. I was late driving back and extremely tired. I dozed off for a minute and when I woke up I found that I had switched lanes. Thinking nothing of it(except how lucky I was for not dying), I drove home.
So my friend tells me I killed someone and just don't know about it. I was driving alone, and there could have been other cars. He gives me the statistics for the amount of fatalities there are from traffic accidents in the United States. There were nearly 6,420,000 auto accidents in the United States in 2005. The financial cost of these crashes is more than 230 Billion dollars. 2.9 million people were injured and 42,636 people killed. About 115 people die every day in vehicle crashes in the United States -- one death every 13 minutes. Considering I was out for a minute, he reasoned that I could have been knocked out for longer. I agreed, I neither looked at the clock or recorded any time before or after I awoke. So we came to the realization that I have a 1 out of 13 chance that I ended up causing a traffic accident that killed someone. Very interesting discussion indeed. Anyway, it ended with me saying the following: "Even if I killed someone, I was not aware of it. So maybe it's not my fault and I can't be blamed for it? Regardless, if I did kill someone, I think that's skill right? Killing people in my sleep, that's like something ninjas do. I feel awesome and horrible at the same time. Awkward."

Why, I do like tuna...

Secret of Megurine is my favorite song for this particular vocaloid. And that tuna one.

And one more for the road.

After this, I will most likely avoid talking about vocaloids again. This is just about as bad as my Idolmaster obsession...
Have a great night everyone! Dream on!

Going the Right Way

It opened... JUST AS PLANNED.

I really liked BF2142. No, not because of that. ^^

Obvious Death Note jokes aside, things are going well for me. I've managed to schedule off its hellbent ways and back on track to success. The bank is done, this house is no longer mine. So long, house! Next week is my last week at work, I've already begun to take some of my stuff home. As a tradition of some sort, I'm giving my nerf rifle to the intern I think best deserves it. I think its a good prize if I say so myself. Holding the garage sale this weekend, its strangely exciting. I did this once before, but back then my mother was in charge. Maybe its just my business management blood boiling.
We've been partying nonstop these days, whenever I come home, we're partying. Playing games, watching movies, going out to eat, having a good time. I'm going to miss moments like these.
I leave in 10 days! I can't believe it! It's not butter!

Manga time!
AI Ga Tomaranai! - One of the first mangas by Ken Akamatsu. Anyone who knows me knows how much I like this dude's mangas. His manga Love Hina got me into anime and manga in the first place. Oh the precious first.
Love Hina - This is it! The story of a college hopeful who keeps flunking out of the entrance exams. With his life at rock bottom, he goes to his grandma for help. In a wacky turn of events, he becomes the manager of a girl's dorm. He has to study for the entrance exams and survive the antics of the residents at the same time. The hilarity that ensues is top notch.
Negima - I did not like this one at first, but it quickly turned me over. It's the story of a child teacher who is secretly a mage. He has to teach a uniquely diverse and very special all-girls class of students, all the while trying to keep his magic a secret. It's funny, it's comedic, it's great!

Vid time!

Battlefield 2142, awesomeness in a box.

Learn how to take down a Titan! Yeah!

Eiffel 65 used be my favorite back in middle school. Oh, so old.

I DJ wit da fia? Is that possible? If its Eiffel 65, I'd believe it. Another favorite.

And this was one of my other favorites back in the day...

Enough Eiffel 65 for one day. Peace out everyone.
(I feel so much happier today. How odd.)

Busy Days

When my status says I'm "busy", I am busy.
It's the truth.

So with work in full gear, I find myself actually spending most of my day there. The old four hour days after school have been replaced eight hours of pure work. Holy dang, a lot happens in the office when I'm not around.  I missed the epic coffee making/hilarious coffee dance that has been introduced to us several weeks ago. Everyone(now including me) now knows that epic coffee is greater than just regular coffee.
Outside of work, I've been cleaning the house mostly. The landscaping is almost done, the yard looks awesome. The house is mostly clean too, only thing left to do is move out. That is still a few weeks away. It feels like we should have waited with the packing, now we have a ton of boxes lying around. Our house now has this "cardboard box" interior design motif.
In my spare time(I originally wrote space time), I play Tropico 3. Remember that? The Communist/Castro sim? I really like this game. It's just too full of tongue-in-cheek humor. It really is like a poor man's Simcity. And its well designed too, a fun game to waste countless hours pretending to be a dictator of a banana republic. Endless fun.
I've also been trying to regain some art skills for the site's new banner, but that is far from fruition. I've also been messing around with an assortment of colors for the site, but not like that will affect anything yet.

Manga time!
Detective Conan - Everyone should know Detective Conan, its like a staple for Japanese manga fans.
QED - Another new detective manga. I think it has good potential to be really awesome.
Magic Kaito - From the same other as Detective Conan, its like a detective manga with magic in it.

Vid time!

Neko Mimi Mode! Can you imagine having this stuck in your head all day? It hurts.

Working!! OP. Catchy and a good anime to boot. Go take a watch.

Code Geass OP. Did I mention it was also a great watch? You know what to do.

Eve no Jikan(Time of Eve) trailer. Hey, another nice one to watch.

Anyone notice the koala plush? lol!

Killzone 2! Too bad it wasn't as awesome as the trailer. Oh hype, how you destroy great games.

Halo 3...

Youtube won't let me embed this one, but you should watch it too!
and if you watched all of those, you are a very bored person. Go play some Tropico 3.

-edit: added manga links because I forgot, and changed the top song from Neko Mimi Mode because it was driving me crazy.

Ouch, more delays.

Not that I'm sick or anything, everything is just backed up. I just figured out how much longer I have to stay here, it's going to be rather odd. Two more weeks, fourteen more days, however you say it, that's how long. The bank decided to take its sweet old time with the loan process, so the buyers told me I needed to wait longer. But  on the bright side, that's two more weeks to train the interns. These new ones don't seem as bad, or I got used to interns. Either case, it's okay.
It is going to be weird living alone in an empty house for two weeks, all the roommates are moving out and taking much of the furniture with them. And I'm still planning on doing the garage sale before they leave so I don't have to do it all by my lonesome self. Honestly, this house gives me the creeps when I'm here alone. It is way too huge for a single person. I don't understand how people can live in those giant mansions without losing their minds. Must be a rich people thing.

Manga time!
Yakitate!! Japan - It's about bread-baking, honestly. I avoided at first because I thought "WTF", but its actually good. Its funny, interesting, and a little over the top. I have a lot of chapters to catch up on.
Saijou no Meii - From the same mangaka guy, this one's about pediatric surgery. Finally, a medical manga. And it totally caught me off guard with its traps. Ackbar be proud.

Under Construction

Pardon the Dust

While I decide what changes I'm going to make like name, layout, colors, maybe even coding. This place may look different in the days to come as I experiment with things. Going to work on my own art finally for the new banner, instead of just ripping pictures off Google Earth(Thanks Google!). I also wanted to insert some kind of chat system, be it forums or a chat room. But that would be kind of useless, wouldn't it? I also wanted to make some money from this site, but can't have it all can I?
This site doesn't get a lot traffic like my other site which averages 300 views a month(seriously, what do they do?), but I like this site because the posts here are simpler and easier. Not saying that the other site isn't fun, it really is. But this one just feels more personal. I can't explain well. I would also like to thank the USF and UNF anime clubs, because its you guys who are probably pushing up the visitor counter there. If you can read this, I love/hate you guys. You know the deal.
All said and done, I feel weird. I woke up today thinking about going to school, only to realize I didn't have to anymore. I didn't hang around long after graduation, so it feels like that day hasn't sunk in yet. Honestly, I wondered what I would do know that I didn't have to sit in classes anymore. I wanted to fall asleep at the desks again, I wanted to see my students again. No longer can I do that. So I went to work instead.
I felt lost, I didn't know what to do. The new interns were here, I gave them the "we're welcoming you, but not really welcoming you" presentation. The new batch was about as diversely noob as the last, but I'm used to that now. The first day was spent getting to know each of the interns that managed to slip past our HR and found themselves at my desk. I showed them around the office and one of the new female interns immediately broke the printer. One of the office guys passing by just shook his head, I silently laughed. I have less than three weeks with these new guys before they are handed off to some other guy for the other seven weeks of their ten week intern period. I want to do the best I can, give them all that I can, so that when they get to the other guy, they will knock his socks off. I take pride in my interns like that, they are a product of my legacy here. The person who introduced me here was a legacy of his own, his name still floats around the office from time to time. I want to be like that, remembered for the good things. So far, I think I'm doing well. The office is throwing me a farewell party on the Friday before I leave, I miss this place. Just like how I miss the classroom already.
It is an odd feeling to want to go back. I've spent my entire life cursing school, class, and professors who only act like they listen. But the second I'm released, I want to go back. Maybe it was because I was comfortable, maybe it was because I feel so lost now. I sit here with my plans in my hands, still wondering what the heck I'm doing. It's an odd feeling.

Oh oh oh, manga recommendations time. This one's new guys, I just started reading these, they're nicely done.
Sankarea - comedy about a girl returning from the dead.
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia - Another comedy about a dead girl's ghost and school mysteries.

Anyway, vid time.
Chuck Norris Jokes.

Angel Beats!

I think I already showed this one, but oh well. Fear Alma again!

I'm off to eat/sleep! 19 more!

The Last File

I Am America
Patriotism at its best/worst

I was listening to a friend talk to some other people, they were talking about how the rest of the world always says the United States is ignorant, arrogant, and all that. I myself have always been a proud American and an established Republican, but it interested me to hear what other people think. But I was not prepared for what I heard.
"The United States is the best in the world." I was expecting the usual "This place sucks, I know." But no, this guy is more hardcore than I am. I really wished that I could have somehow recorded his dialogue. Not only was it informative and true, but it was also extremely hilarious to hear. I can't exactly quote all the expletives, so it'll use much of its humor as I explain it.
So first off, he explains why other nations like to badmouth the US. Of course they would, he says. Who wouldn't? We have everything they could only dream of. We have the best economy, the educated workforce, the prestigious colleges, the most powerful military, we have everything. They don't. It's a fact that those on top stand alone.
So they go on to say that reason doesn't allow the US to go around and do as it pleases. The response? "Didn't you listen? We have everything. Even the other countries. What matters in that country, matters to us. Their fight is our fight, because what happens over there, matters over here. As the world's superpower, it is our duty to insure that we stay on top. Every empire in history has done the same. Do you think the Roman Empire let others do as they pleased?"
The conversation took a little turn, when it was said that should not allow the US to force its culture onto other nations. This was a really fun one to listen to. Why should they not follow in our footsteps? We are the best empire in existence. We're not forcing our culture on other nations, they are adopting it themselves. They hire us to do business in their country, they buy our goods because our stuff is superior. English the most widely spoken language, the dollar is used internationally. As the best there is, why not do what we do?
I missed a lot of conversation after that, I happened to be trying to study for a final. When I rejoined the conversation, they had moved onto economics. The other guy was trying to argue that America owed its economy to other nations because of outsourcing. And then came the rebuttal.
Other countries did not even know about outsourcing until the United States introduced it. We hold the stock market, we have the dollar, we have everything. The only reason companies outside the United States are as big as they are, is because we decided to go there and teach them how to do business. That is what the business world is all about(as a business major, I know that for a fact). We go to other countries to teach them how we do business, we built those companies, the industries, the factories. We trained the workforce, we gave the know-how. At the end of World War Two, we pulled Europe out. We rebuilt Japan's and South Korea's economy. Because their success is our success.
And than it was said that America borrowed its success from foreign countries, like Japan for technology. Who funded them? They didn't get all that money by themselves. Before outsiders stepped into the picture, Japan was a island of rice paddies. Only when their doors were finally opened did Japan start modernizing. Asian countries all lagging behind until outside forces pushed them.
So anyway, the conversation was long, informative, and hilarious. But I had to stop listening at some point. I found it hilarious that although the argument was sound, it sounded best when said in an arrogant tone of voice. It got me thinking though, I'm glad I live in the States. I believed him, the United States was the best place to live. We had no wars, no famines, no rampant epidemics, a stable government, and comfortable lives. I like the fact that we hold the most powerful military and have the economy in our hands rather than someone else's. Sure, America has its problems. But I'd rather have these problems than some other country's problems.

That's the end of that. Now I have a small announcement to make. As you may or may not have noticed, this post is "the last file". The purpose of the File Cabinet was so I could store some of my academic works while I was in college, which I did to an extent. But now, as I'm leaving college, I figured it was time for a name change as my outlook on this blog changes. As much as I want to name it "The Interblag" or "The Blogosphere", I can't. That's already taken. I'll be taking a thinking break until I move, then I'll change it. I wonder what kind of new name I should give it, something hilarious probably. For the moment, I was thinking "Adventures of Kai", but that seemed so plain. Anyway, I could use some suggestions. I'll keep thinking about it.

Vid overblow time!

I'm the boss!

For those you who need to figure out how to do good presentations.

Gaming can save the world, guys. Play more.

For those of you who don't know, Visual Novels are popular in Japan. They tell a story much like reading a book, except you can make decisions to influence the story. The closest equivalent I can think of are those Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books. Moving characters are a first in visual novels, hence its cool and I decided to point it out. And if you haven't seen White Album the anime, you should. It's a eye-catching adult story.

Another random Idolmaster vid, jus cuz.

The original vid. "Voice" by Eri Nobuchika, btw. Good song, nice vid.

Okay, that's it.
22 Days left.
